Columbia Wind: Important questions remain unanswered
The Columbia Wind Project, and the infrastructure that comes with it is expected to impact ten communities across Columbia County.
Local governments and landowners say the current Public Service Commission (PSC) application leaves out basic information the community needs – project’s full scope, related infrastructure, emergency response needs, environmental risk, and long-term local responsibilities.
WLC's role in the Columbia Wind process
Wisconsinites for Local Control is the only accepted PSC intervener representing local governments, residents and landowners for the Columbia Wind Project and related future dockets. That means we're directly engaged in the docket, reviewing filings, tracking the proceedings, and putting legal, technical, regulatory, and utility expertise to work alongside the communities involved.

Infrastructure decisions of this scale move through multiple local, state, utility, and their respective regulatory review processes. The processes are often technical and difficult for almost anyone without specialized training to follow.
